This intensive course, which is ideal for those who are new to film making, gives students a thorough and priceless grounding in the fundamentals of film making. Students get the chance to take a project from concept to script to screen and study a variety of skills that are important to the business from working film and TV professionals.
You will collaborate in small groups to create a variety of non-sync visual narrative short films using only top-of-the-line professional digital cameras. Concurrently providing networking opportunities and access to industry training on productions, working collaboratively with classmates, performers, and instructors fosters confidence.
Throughout this course, students will master the principles of photography, camera functions, video editing, media analysis, and film making. Students make, shoot, direct, and edit their own videos with the help of our seasoned professionals who are experts in their fields of study and experience.
Our experienced instructors provide students with the skills necessary to gain lucrative entry-level positions in the film and television industries. They are available to assist, counsel, support, and encourage you during your stay at the Esom School of Music.

Study at Esom School of Music
During this group course, you will learn about the art and technology of video production from beginning to end. Students gain an understanding of the difficulties and opportunities connected with visually conveying the real world through the medium of videography.
If you learn in a private setting, you will receive feedback on your course assignments and course materials, review important methods, learn about the music industry, receive musical, production, and industry suggestions, and have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have about the course material or yourself.
A short course is a mini version of our normal course in a private program that lasts for a shorter period of time (normally 6 weeks). In our short courses, a student gets 2 lessons a week and practice throughout the week.
With a focus on “hands on” learning, students of film and video production examine the production methods and working practices common to the film and television industries.

When are your intakes?
Private one on one Film and Video production students are enrolled throughout the year. Meaning you can enroll anytime you are ready to get started. How long does it take to finish the Film and Video production course?
The Film and Video production course lasts for one year, which is divided into three (3) terms and each term takes 3 months or 12 weeks to complete.
Do I have to study everyday?
No. Lessons are conducted once a week. However, Film and Video production students get one guided practice session with an instructor every week and free personal practice throughout the week. Note that one is free to practice from home, provided they have the necessary equipment for practice.
Do you provide accommodation?
The school does not provide accommodation. However, our long-distance students get affordable accommodation around the school at an average cost of UGX 300,000 per term. Note: Meals are not included in the amount paid for accommodation.
What employment opportunities are available for a Film and Video production graduate?

Yes, practical computer knowledge is required for the Film and Video Production Program.
However at ESOM, we have the computer package that is intended solely for students who do not have any prior computer experience but wish to enroll in the sound engineering program, which requires computer proficiency.
