Piano Instructor Job Description


We’re looking for a reliable piano instructor who has both talent and experience to join our school. Examining students’ requirements and creating lessons that will help them reach their objectives, taking care of administrative tasks, and keeping track of appointments are all jobs that fall under the purview of the piano teacher. In addition to teaching music theory, you will get students ready for performances, tests, and competitions.

It will be advantageous for the candidates if they have prior experience working as piano teachers or in similar roles. The ability to run the classroom and exceptional communication abilities are both required.

Piano Instructor Responsibilities:
  • Determine the goals and objectives of the students and go over the specifics of the class with them.
  • Building each lesson’s structure on the preferences and objectives of the student.
  • Providing students with appropriate materials and resources.
  • Attending scheduled practice sessions, performances, and other activities on time.
  • Teaching music theory and assisting students in improving their sight-reading, remembering, and improvising skills.
  • Preparing students for exams, recitals, and other events.
  • Motivating students, especially when they are struggling and progress is slow.
  • Providing constructive feedback and adjusting lessons as required.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Music or a related field.
  • Strong musical ability, as well as proven piano skills and knowledge.
  • Previous experience as a music teacher would be advantageous.
  • Patience, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to identify strengths and weaknesses.
  • Strong motivational skills.
  • Excellent classroom management skills.
